Scenar Technology
Scenar devices work through a bio-feedback mechanism (see Scenar - How It Works) -- the constant monitoring of skin impedance, which changes with time and “dosage” delivered. After establishing this "dialogue" with the body, the Scenar determines the most appropriate signals to stimulate self-repair. The Scenar signal stream, consisting of waveform, signal strength and frequency, can be varied, either through the therapist's selection, or automatically (in Cosmodic Scenars). This gives the experienced Scenar therapist a comprehensive toolbox of treatment variations to deal with a range of both acute and chronic conditions.
Scenar Signal Strength
These peak levels would be uncomfortable under most circumstances and are only used briefly in emergency situations, or following an injury when the person is in agony. The Scenar device may then be set at an itensity close to that of the pain, which it proceeds to "drown out".
Scenar Pulses and PacketsClassic Scenar uses a short, high amplitude cycle followed by several lower amplitude cycles all operating at the same frequency (which can be adjustable and variable). The body effectively controls the work of Scenar via changes of skin impedance, thus regulating the structure of each new impulse so that it will be different from the previous one.
The individual pulses in these bursts can themselves be spaced out to give a concentrated (deep) or diffuse (shallow) penetration, depending on local body density or depth of pain location. Alternatively, a single pulse may be pre-selected to a pulse repeat rate over a set frequency range. The Scenar signal may also be “modulated” either by altering the ratio of “time-on” to “time-off” or by changing the pulse waveform by selecting one of a series of set damping factors. These modulations can either be applied individually or together.
Scenar Cycles and ChaosScenar also offers a function for automatically cycling both the pulse repeat rate over a set frequency range and the waveform-damping factor. These cyclical modes can again be invoked either individually or together. A further level of "chaos" is introduced by a random variation of the pulse amplitude from zero to the chosen comfort level such that no two impulses are the same.
The Scenar device is a sophisticated piece of electronics. It will do good at even the most basic settings, but in the hands of an experienced practitioner, a wide range of possibilities open up.
